RALPH

When I call his name, his ears prick up

His legs are grey and black splats

With a bit of ginger spice

He is Saluki, a family dog

Gentle with children

Ralph is pencil thin

Hollow cheeked

Like a matchstick

After a muddy walk

He is foul smelling

Rank and evil smelling

He is puckeracious

We wash him in the bath

The stinky dolly

He’s a bit jittery and doubtful about the water

He feels afraid

Afterwards he smells as fresh as a baby wipe

Ralph runs at high speed

He is spanking like a whirlwind

He is a lucky dog

He was rescued

And now he has a family

Ralph is a sizeable and

nice looking dog

He is a personable and dishy dog

Ralph is blessed with good luck

Born under a lucky star

And heaven sent

I will sing him a song by Cat Stevens ‘I Love My Dog’

I love stroking him

It’s my favourite part of the day
